Wit (short for “What is this?”) is a minimalist, privacy-first AI analysis tool for iOS. It helps you understand the world around you—from identifying phishing scams to translating travel menus—without ever requiring an account or collecting your data.

Wit was built with a “Privacy by Design” philosophy.

No Accounts: We do not require (or want) your email, phone number, or name.
No Tracking: We do not use third-party tracking or advertising SDKs.
No Data Storage: We do not store or retain your personal data on our servers.
Local History: Your analysis history is stored exclusively on your physical device. If you delete the app, the history is gone.
Secure Processing: Images are sent via encrypted (HTTPS) transit to our server for AI analysis. Images are processed in memory and are not stored on our servers after the analysis is complete. We do not retain submitted images or analysis results on our servers after processing is complete.
Legal Basis for Processing: Images are processed solely to provide the requested analysis (performance of a service).

Tap the Share button.
Find and tap Wit in the list of apps. (If you don’t see it, tap “More” and add Wit to your favorites).

I’m having trouble with an analysis. What should I do?

Ensure you have a stable internet connection, as the AI analysis requires a secure connection to our processing server.

Wit reserves the right to take reasonable technical measures to protect the service from misuse, including limiting or restricting access to the service where feasible.

Fair Use Policy

Wit is designed for individual, personal use by everyday users. While we offer “unlimited” analysis tiers, these are subject to our Fair Usage Policy to ensure service stability and prevent abuse.

Subscriptions are intended for a single human user, not for automated, robotic, or bulk processing of images. Wit reserves the right to temporarily limit or restrict access if usage patterns suggest non-human activity or system abuse.

This policy ensures that we can keep providing high-quality AI analysis to the entire community at a fair price.

These insights are provided “as is” without any guarantees regarding accuracy, completeness, or reliability, and should not be used as the sole basis for decisions involving financial, legal, or safety risks. Even the most advanced AI systems can make mistakes and may fail to identify all risks. Users assume all responsibility for verifying critical information and for any actions taken based on app results. Wit is provided under the Apple Standard EULA, which limits developer liability to the maximum extent permitted by law.
